The cinema shop

Following the reopening of the Capitole cinema in Lausanne in February 2024, the cinema shop opened its doors on 5 September 2024. Visitors now have a new 60m2 space on the first floor of the Capitole where they can purchase a wide range of film-related products. The Cinémathèque suisse has teamed up with Michael Frei, who for twenty-five years ran the specialist shop Le Karloff in Lausanne. The new shop complements the range of products on offer at the Capitole, where film lovers can attend screenings, have a drink and now also discover the latest releases in the shop.

A wide range of products

The shop is entirely dedicated to cinema, offering a wide range of items (DVDs, Blu-rays, box sets, books, posters, postcards, etc.), often in connection with the Cinémathèque suisse’s activities, including retrospectives, previews, cultural outreach and cinema history events. The shop can also deal with special orders and find rare or ‘niche’ items.
